As I sit down to write the first blog post for our new website, I am struck by how much the world has changed in the last three months.
In the first quarter of 2020, business was strong and we were finishing up several kitchen and bath remodeling projects. Then came Covid-19. We tried to balance the health and safety of our employees and clients with the needs of running a business. On March 20th, we made the extremely hard decision to close our design studio to walk-in traffic and furlough some employees. Even though construction was deemed an essential business in Massachusetts, we approached our work cautiously. We implemented new policies to reduce the risk of exposure such as only working in unoccupied homes and limiting interactions with clients. We applied and received Payroll Protection Program funding through Cape Cod Five. We purchased PPE and cleaning supplies in anticipation of going back to work.
It is now mid-June and we have re-booted our business. Our design studio is open by appointment and we offer contact-less pickup of sample sets. New protocols for design appointments are in-place to protect employees and clients. Every jobsite will get a porta-potti and portable hand washing station. Living areas of occupied homes will get completely sealed off from our work area. All of our trucks will be equipped with masks, disinfecting wipes, and hand sanitizer. We have always taken pride in keeping our jobsites clean and organized but it will be at a whole new level now.
As the banner outside my window says “We are here for you and your Home”. Please reach out to us if we can help with any of your remodeling needs.
